MIC Plenary Sessions

The Quantum Future of Medical Imaging

David Reilly, Director Microsoft Station Q and Professor University of Sydney, Australia

As a leader in Microsoft’s quantum effort, David Reilly bridges the gap between fundamental quantum physics and the engineering approaches needed to scale quantum devices into quantum machines. In this plenary, Professor Reilly will review the challenges and recent advances in quantum control systems as they relate to medical imaging and try to imagine the future of medical imaging in a quantum world.

Quantitative Functional MRI

Seong-Gi Kim, Director Center for Neuroscience Imaging Research and Professor Sungkyunkwan University, Korea

Seong-Gi Kim develops quantitative magnetic resonance imaging techniques for measuring brain physiology and function. He applies these techniques to determine relationships between neural activity and hemodynamic responses, and for answering systems neuroscience questions. In this plenary, Professor Kim will discuss the latest advances in quantitative functional MRI and its potential role in elucidating fundamental physiological mechanisms in the brain.
