Luna Park
Boarding at 6:30pm for 6:45pm departure from the Darling Harbour Convention Jetty
Friday, 16 November
19:00 - 22:30
Disembarking at Darling Harbour Convention Jetty at 11:00pm
The MIC dinner promises to be a memorable one. It will be held at Luna Park, an iconic Sydney landmark on the foreshore of Sydney Harbour, with full and uninterrupted views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.
Guests will be transported by ferry from the convention centre across the harbour to Luna Park where, on arrival, they will enjoy pre-dinner drinks on a private deck, while taking in sunset views of Sydney Harbour.
The dinner will be a seated buffet dinner of premium Australian produce and wines. We will hear a fascinating talk on aboriginal astronomy which will explore the ways in which Australia’s indigenous peoples, the world’s most ancient continuous civilization, incorporated astronomy into their daily lives, rituals and art.
After dinner, guests can enjoy complimentary rides in the park (an all day pass is included with the dinner ticket) or take a leisurely stroll along the harbourside boardwalk before returning to the convention centre precinct by ferry.
The MIC dinner will be a highlight of the conference and, since numbers are capped, we recommend getting your ticket early to avoid disappointment.
